Faculty of Architecture student, Khon Kaen University was awarded the first prize in the Mc Smart 2, 2017 Project under the Fashion Lifestyle category, according to the award announcement on March 10, 2017 at the Art and Cultural Center, Bangkok.
Faculty of Architecture student, Khon Kaen University encourages students to learn outside classrooms under the Creative Economy and Society policy - Khon Kaen University builds knowledge according to the mission towards creative socio-economic development. Students are always encouraged to enter different contests. In the Mc Smart 2, 2017 Project this year, over 8 teams entered the final round. Ajarn Kwanhathai Thada and Ajarn Pakinee Plengdeesakul are the advisers of the project. The Rhythm Wave team with the following members: Miss Natnaree Panthonglaptawee, Miss Kanjanasuda Kinnaret and Miss Ornuma Upathi wonthe first prize of the team category. The team that won the second runner-up prize comprised Mr. Jirakit Saisanam, Mr. Yuthana Nawa and Mr. Wiwat Wongkaew, and the first runner-up team under the Living Lifestyle category were Miss Farung Masil and Miss Aporn Nakhonpan. The university congratulates all of the students.
Miss Natnaree Panthonglaptawee, the representative of the students who won the prize showed her feeling, “Being awarded in this contest is an important chance for us to apply knowledge and experience from class in the contest. We also express our design potential for others to know and accepted at the national level.”
The Mc Smart Project by Mc Group (Public Company) and the Commercial Design and Innovation Promotion Institute, Department of International Trading Promotion, Ministry of Commerce opens a chance for students and interested individuals to use left-over materials from Mc Jeans manufacturing to apply into an art work, design, or fashion that can be used in daily life. The objective of the project is: M (Motivation) – building motivation for those who love to design by providing a stage for them to express their creative ideas, C (Creativity) – to enhance skill and potential development for creative thinking, S (Social Responsibility) – to demonstrate social responsibility by conserving the environment via the project that instills conscience in utilizing left-over materials, and M (Maximization) – to manage manufacturing resources to their fullest extent, and ART – to promote creative art work that has quality and meets the needs in daily life.
