On June 9th, 2017, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kittichai Trairatanasirichai, KKU’s president, was interviewed in ‘Dern Na Pratet Thai’ program on the topic “KKU’s role towards applying research studies and innovation to driving Thailand to be a 4.0 country” presenting KKU’s research studies which help Thai society in the Northeast.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kittichai Trairatanasirichai said, “As the first university in the Northeast, Khon Kaen University has been focusing on the research in agriculture and food, particularly healthy food. Not only is it innovative, it also helps farmers to increase their income. The studies cover the areas of rice, sugar canes, cassava, and rubber tree, all of which have been patented and approved. This helps the farmers to earn more from the added value to the local resources.

In addition, there are some studies in the field of health which are considered a main issue in the Northeast. KKU has conducted the research for a long time and been able to cope with the problems for people in the Northeast. For more than 20 years, KKU has also been creating innovations at a world class level to deal with opisthorchiasis and biliary cancer, which betters Northeastern people’s living and significantly reduces the death rate.”

This program will be broadcasted on Chanel 11, 7, 3, 5, and 9 on Thursday June 29th, 2017 at 18.00 after the national anthem.
