KKU researchers win Gold Prize from an international fair

Researchers of Me Kong Health Science Research Institute won the Gold Prize from Seoul International Invention Fair 2017, building chance for standard and commercial channel

          Asst. Prof. Dr. Kathreeta Sutthanut and her research team consisting of Dr. Rungsiri Chitthinan and Asst. Prof. Dr. Patcharaporn Tippayawat presented their work on, “Process and Formula of Concentrated Fat Cream Drop with High Content of Rice Bran Ferment Extract” in the “Seoul International Invention Fair 2017” (SIIF 2017) hosted by Korea Invention Promotion Association (KIPA) held from November 28 until December 4, 2017 at COEX Exhibition Hall, Seoul, South Korea.

          Asst. Prof. Dr. Kathreeta Sutthanut and her research team consisting of Dr. Rungsiri Chitthinan and Asst. Prof. Dr. Patcharaporn Tippayawat were supported by the Office of Agricultural Research Development, Me Kong Health Science Research Institute, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Science, Khon Kaen University to join the contest and present their work at an international level. It is a good chance for Thai researchers to receive certification of invention standards that will lead to market and commercial opportunities. This research won the Gold Prize, guaranteeing Khon Kaen University’s research qualities.

          “Seoul International Invention Fair 2017” (SIIF 2017) is an international exhibition fair and innovation contest event. The Office of National Research Council and the research network organizations send their work to join the contest and for presentation. The fair is interesting to international researchers worldwide from Asia, Europe, America, and the Middle East who send 600 work pieces to the contest this year. It is the largest goods and invention exhibition fair in the world and a gate to the world market. Inventors and researchers find this event the venue to present their innovative concepts and products. The fair also matches the manufacturers, investors, distributers, companies that take care of licensing. There are also marketing gurus who will provide intellectual properties and lawyers in technology transfer. These people participate in the event to help the inventors. All are under the patronage of the Office of Intellectual Properties of Korea and finally the product might be supported by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the International Federation of Inventors’ Association (IFIA).
