“Sinsai” Band represents KKU by publicizing Isan identity in Preediyanon Fair

“Sinsai” Pong Lang Band of Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts represented Khon Kaen University to demonstrate the identity and art and culture of the Isan locality in the “18th University art and culture: Preediyanon Fair”

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kriengkrai Kitjaroen, Vice President for Art, Cuture, and Community Relation; Mr. Bancha Phraphon, Assistant to the President for Art, Cuture, and Community Relation and Acting Director of Cultural Office; Asst. Prof. Tharanit Hin-on, Deputy Director of Cultural Office; Mr. Passakorn Tuaprakhon, Deputy Director of Cultural Office; and Cultural Office personnel, lecturers and students of Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts of Khon Kaen University; led “Sinsai” Pong Lang Band to publicize art and culture and tradition of Isan folk art in the “18th University art and culture: Preediyanon Fair” at Sanamchan Silapakorn University, Nakhonpathom on February 7-9, 2018. The performance played by “Sinsai” Pong Lang Band was “Tai Fai Len sao”.

 

The University Art and Culture Fair is organized as a result of the idea of the Higher Education Commission to promote and succeed Thai cultures which are of multiple characteristics and distributed in different regions all over Thailand. Each of these Thai cultures has its own identity and attractiveness that can draw people to see, including dancing, music, and visual arts. The University Art and Culture Fair has been held for 20 years from1998. This is the 18th time.  The fair this year conveys the notion of pleasant and joyful performance art to celebrate the 50th year of Silapakorn University Sanamchan. In the fair this year, 101 universities all over the country joined with 150 performances.
