KKU holds the 4th great conference to promote art identity at an inter

KKU and 27 network institutions held the 4th national conference, “Art Identity: from Local to Global” at Avani Hotel and Convention Center, Khon Kaen

          July 13, 2018 – Khon Kaen University and 27 network institutions held the 4th national conference on research art. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kriengkrai Kitjaroen, Vice President for Art, Culture and Community Relation conveyed an opening address, while Assoc. Prof. Dr. Niyom pongkham, Dean of Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts gave a reporting speech. Over 300 Khon Kaen University administrators, lecturers, researchers, students attended including Khun Mingkhwan Sangsuwan, former Deputy Prime Minister, at Avani Hotel and Convention Center, Khon Kaen.

          The 4th national conference on research art was held under the theme: “Art Identity: from Local to Global” with the aim to arrange a venue for presentation of research work, theses, and creative work of researchers, academics, lecturers, students, and interested people. The conference leads to quality development of research, instruction, academic service for the community, society, and the country. It also enhanced research atmosphere and opened a chance for learning and sharing of knowledge and experiences through presentation of research work that would lead to academic excellence.

          Assoc. Prof. Dr. Niyom pongkham, Dean of Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts of Khon Kaen University said that the presentation of research work was divided into groups of visual arts, design, music and performance arts, and cultures. The key purpose was to build new researchers in fine and applied arts. The conference was a channel for utilizing research work for national and local development.

“The conference emphasizes research, art works, cultural capitals based on creative economy, partnership and alliance with organizations that hold the same target in order to nurture arts and cultures for the communities. It is expected to add values to arts and cultures according to culture-based economy, to promote and support learning and sharing atmosphere for research in arts and creative work. These are the issues of awareness of the faculty, and have been the points to take into account as the research topics that are consistent with the change in Thai society at present,” Assoc. Prof. Dr. Niyom said.

           Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kriengkrai Kitjaroen, Vice President for Art, Culture and Community Relation explained that Khon Kaen University is aware of the importance of knowledge sharing and academic collaboration that lead to academic research and works in visual arts, design, music and performance arts, and cultures, all of which play important roles in refining people’s mind, creating beautiful and happy society. This conference is a stage for learning and sharing, publicizing works and building cooperation networks in different dimensions, which will lead to promotion high quality academic work.
