KKU holds a seminar on robot and automation for productivity raising

On October 10th, 2018, Faculty of Engineering conducted a seminar dubbed, “increasing productivity via automatic and robotic systems.” The event was presided over by the faculty’s dean, Professor Apirat Siratarathiwat and the general director of the Industrial Promotion Department, Mr. Kobchai Sungsitisawat. The activity held on the 4th floor of the 50th Anniversary Building welcomed about 100 participants. The seminar was aimed to provide knowledge to the engineering teachers and students while creating network between its faculties and the personnel from automatic and robotic industrial fields.

Professor Apirat said that the government has endorsed the idea of automatic and robotic industrial development since August 29th, 2018. One of the measures that should be implemented is the development of personnel in the area and accordingly a Center of Robotic Excellence has been established. KKU’s Faculty of Engineering is affiliated to this organization. Moreover, the government has created laws and regulations that attract the private sectors’ interest to investment in automatic and robotic industry.   

 “This seminar is an arena for equipping knowledge on the area to students prior to their apprentice. It also broadcasts to automatic and robotic business entrepreneurs about the benefits yielded from the government’s new laws on automatic and robotic exercises. The seminar also made in compliance with the faculty’s Strategy 6 which aims to make the faculty become an institute with excellent research and innovation that can be applied in industrial benefits for the social betterment.”  

The morning session was scheduled for different topics of lecture including; “Production improvement via connected industries in Thailand 4.0” by a general director of the Industrial Promotion Department, Mr. Kobchai Sungsitisawat; and “Why should automatic and robotic systems be used in industry” by Mr. Tanarak Kosulwit, a vice president of CPF limited.  The afternoon lecture was on the topic of, “Taxation benefits from the application of automatic and robotic systems” by the representatives from CoRE and BOI.
