KKU hosts the 9th University Student Council meeting – 34 universities join

          January 11, 2019 - Khon Kaen University hosted the 9th Thailand University Student Council meeting. Assoc. Prof. Piansak Phakdee, Vice President for Student Development and Alumni Relation and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kulthida Tuamsuk, Dean of Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences gave the opening address and welcomed the participants. Sixty five student representatives from 34 institutions all over the country joined.

          Thai University Student Council meetings are held to carry out activities as planned by the Council, for the network student councils all over the country to do activities together, to exchange experiences and operation approaches for each university to apply according to each university’s context.

          Assoc. Prof. Piansak Phakdee, Vice President for Student Development and Alumni Relation said that this meeting is a good stage for students’ potential development in implementation, planning how to enhance skills for activity arrangement which will benefit students’ activities. The meeting provides a chance for learning and sharing. Meeting friends from other universities leads to establishment of network, tightens relationship and publicizes each university.

          Mr. Sapsathit Nakdee, a 4th year student of Faculty of Education in Mathematics Education Program, as the President of KKU Student Council and acting Secretary of Thai University Student Council Meeting, said that each institution is different from others in terms of contexts and cultures. This enables us to learn from each other and share our experiences.

          “We are able to learn a lot, for our friends at the meeting are different because they come from all over the country. Before this meeting takes place, coordination had to be done. We learn the details of the work such as documentary work for money withdrawal, coordinating methods, contact. The meeting of Thai University Student Council was held for the first time in 2014. This is the 9th meeting and is held on January 10-13, 2019. There are many agenda this time including reporting of many projects implementation progress.
