KKBS builds a student network of 4 regional universities

       February 11-12, 2019 - Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy of Khon Kaen University by the section for student development and student union held the learning and sharing of student activities among 4 regional universities, with the aims to develop student activities, enhance graduate’s required traits, and support the 4 regional universities to be accepted nationally and internationally.

        The event began by Ajarn Suthasinee Suwannapak, Associate Dean for Student Development and Special Activities of Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy, Khon Kaen University giving a report to Assoc. Prof. Pensri Jaroenwanit, Dean of Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy, who then made an opening address and welcomed Asst. Prof. Khemakorn Chaiprasit, Associate Dean for Student Quality Development of Faculty of Business Administration, Chiangmai University; Dr. Thinikan Sungsuwan, Assistant to the Dean of Faculty of Management and Tourism, Burapa University; and Dr. Tanawut Sangkasanee, Associate Dean for Student Development of Faculty of Management Science of Prince of Songkhla University, lecturers, students, officers, and activity leaders of Thailand Regional Business Schools Network (TRBSN).

       Ajarn Suthasinee Suwannapak, Associate Dean for Student Development and Special Activities of Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy, Khon Kaen University explained that this project was held for students to share their skills, knowledge, and understanding in operating student development work and activities, and for lecturers and officers who organize extra-curricular activities under Thailand Regional Business Schools Network (TRBSN).

        In November, 2017, an MOU was signed for academic collaboration among 4 regional business schools, namely: Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy, Khon Kaen University; Faculty of Business Administration, Chiangmai University; Faculty of Management and Tourism, Burapa University; and Faculty of Management Science of Prince of Songkhla University under the name, “Thailand Regional Business Schools Network (TRBSN)”. In order to extend the relationship regarding student development work, this project on “Learning and Sharing of Student Activities of Student Union and Leaders of Extra-Curricular Activities” was held for increasing skills, knowledge and understanding and for opening world vision in student development work and extra-curricular activity organizations for relevant students, lecturers and officers. The event also opened a chance for student leaders to share their experiences outside classrooms so that they can apply these in their future activity organization.

       Miss Patraporn Sinprasert (Pat), President of Student Union of Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy, Khon Kaen University related as the host that she was happy to welcome students from other universities to KKU. It was a good chance for the students to share and learn from each other. It was like drawing the lessons learned to apply in the student development activities next year. In addition, this event enhances unity among students under the network, enables leaders to work with others, increasing their efficiency and effectiveness of work.

       Mr. Thanatip Thepsuwan (Nam) President of Student Union of Faculty of Business Administration, Chiangmai University said that this project builds strong connection of the 4 institutions. “We will share information together. We will share the Best Practices that will lead to management of appropriate student activities and make students of the 4 regional universities to step out as good graduates.”

       Mr. Ratchapon Matthujad (First), President of Student Union of Faculty of Management and Tourism, Burapa University said that the student development work of the 4 institutions is mostly similar. Some of the differences can be used as a good example. Doing activities together opened a chance for exchanging working concepts as well as strengthened the relationships among the students of the 4 universities.

        The last one, Mr. Jiramet Maithong (Den), President of Student Union of Faculty of Management Science of Prince of Songkhla University expressed his feeling towards this visit that besides opening the world vision, the event trained them in planning student activity work and enabled them to share experience in organization management, to learn different cultures, and most important of all to obtain friendship.
