Mr. Pornpon Ekatthaporn, Acting Director of SACICT presented the awards to winners at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Center, Bangna, on September 9, 2022.

Mr. Sukhacha Saenna related about the inspiration behind his design. The design concept was “Flowers for You”. The story was about laborers, a job that everyone knows still exists, but the laborers are usually considered being the margin people of the society. Laborers in regions moved into towns and cities in order to earn their living and be able to live on. Cities where they live are full of civilized materials, but for Isan laborers, there are limitations in their life capital and in all dimensions. They are confined to few alternatives for their occupations. Selling labor is one of those that they have to rely on in order to earn money for their family. Flowers for You is not only a symbol for moral supporting, but it is also something to raise awareness of the fact that even though flowers cannot bloom beautifully in a dimly lit city, the light of occasion still shine on them to grow on their own. Flowers that are not interested by anyone, just like something with no meaning can finally be flowers grown in the laborers’ hearts and the people who are waiting for them. The flowers will always be beautiful. The inspiration led to the design process that drew the pattern of canvas drawing. The canvas is usually used to cover construction sites. The dress was made from Mad Mee silk with double-ikat technique and paint on the stationary line and the moving line prior to tying of threads in the moving line for the overlying patterns to emerge.
