KKU and MHESI promote programs for new-species graduates, aiming to launch high-competent and skillful manpower to the job markets

Friday June 30, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 17:00 p.m. – Office of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) and Khon Kaen University organized a conference under the Project of Northeast New-Species Undergraduate Programs, which was aimed at developing and preparing manpower with high skills and competency, public relate the concepts, principles and implementation outcomes of the Project, and learning and sharing among universities both having and not having joined the Project. In addition, the conference was a venue for listening to opinions and recommendations for the Second Phase of the Project of Northeast New-Species Undergraduate Programs. (This Phase included 4 conferences in the Central, East, South, and Northeast Regions.) A total of 211 people joined the conference, including staff, lecturers, cooperative education officers, and students. The conference was held at Convention Rooms 1-2, Avani Hotel and Convention Center, Khon Kaen.

          

The Conference featured a special talk on the Preparation and Development of Manpower with High Skills and Competency by Assoc. Prof. Phasit Lorteerapong, Ph.D., Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation.

The discussion and learning and sharing session, another feature of the Conference, was on the topic of: Good Practices for Implementation of Programs in the Project, which was moderated by Assoc. Prof. Bandit Tipakorn, Ph.D., Chairman of the Subcommittee. The guest speakers at the discussion were university representatives, including: Assoc. Prof. Maitree Inprasitha, Ph.D., Vice President for Education and Academic Services of Khon Kaen University; Asst. Prof. Wichayut Jantaree, Ph.D., Vice President of Kalasin University; Asst. Prof. Kannikar Wongwanich, Ph.D., Assistant to the President for Academic Affairs and International Relation of Kasetsart University (Sakonnakhon Campus); Assoc. Prof. Captain Konnatorn Chamniprasat, Ph.D., from an engineering program; and representatives from the private sector: Mrs. Nalinthip Ongsombat, from Farm Bannok Academy, Khon Kaen; and Miss Pituporn Phuchoksiri, from Hak Het Farm, Khon Kaen.

        

Khon Kaen University has submitted 16 programs to the Project. Seven universities joined in organizing exhibitions on New-Species Graduates, namely, Khon Kaen University, Suranaree University of Technology, Kasetsart University (Sakonnakhon Campus), Kalasin University, Maha Sarakham Rajabhat University, Surin Rajabhat University, and Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University.
