KKU joins CMU to carry out a rural development camp, aiming to create conscience in sustainable development goals (SDGs)

March 26, 2024 – Khon Kaen University by the Division of Student Development and Alumni Relation carried out the Project: “Creating Conscience in Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Student Development”. Assoc. Prof. Piansak Pakdee, Vice President for Student Development and Alumni Relation welcomed the participants, while Asst. Prof Rachata Chompoonit, Vice President for Student Affairs and Sustainable Development of Kasetsart University, Chairman of the Student Development Committee, Council of University Presidents of Thailand, gave a special talk. Asst. Prof. Worapot Sereerat, Assistant to the President of Chiangmai University led CMU students to join the event, which was attended by a great number of students from Chiangmai and Khon Kaen Universities. The event took plase at Auditorium 7011, Faculty of Agriculture, Khon Kaen University.

Assoc. Prof. Piansak Pakdee, Vice President for Student Development and Alumni Relation said that the foundation of each university was meant for developing human resources and the country. Meanwhile, the United Nations has set the targets of development in 17 aspects that are aimed for the world population’s wellbeing, with good and sustainable wellness. Therefore, one major mission of universities is to develop the potentialities of students based on the UN’s sustainable development goals as the framework and directions in learning and educational activities.

“This is a good chance that Asst. Prof. Worapot Sereerat, Assistant to the President of Chiangmai University and CMU students come to Khon Kaen to join the 32nd KKU-CMU Rural Development Camp in Khon Kaen. We hope this activity will build conscience in sustainable development goals (SDGs) for student development and connect the developmental mission between Khon Kaen University and Chiangmai University, which will lead to sustainable social development in the long run.”
