On 9 December 2025, Khon Kaen University (KKU), led by Associate Professor Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., KKU President, alongside Associate Professor Nawarat Waraasawapati, D.D.S., D.M.Sc., Vice President for International Affairs, welcomed Professor Katharine Morley and Professor Michael Morley, academics and experts in medicine, organisational policy, and research project management from Harvard Medical School, USA. The experts visited Khon Kaen University to discuss and exchange knowledge on developing research projects focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications in public health systems, as well as to foster interdisciplinary academic cooperation across fields such as Medicine, Nursing, Engineering, Data Science, and other related areas.

During the visit, the Harvard Medical School delegation engaged in discussions with university executives and toured key academic units within the Faculty of Medicine, including the Departments of Emergency Medicine, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Paediatrics, Radiology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and Ophthalmology. In addition, they conducted an “AI and Grant Writing Workshop”, aimed at supporting KKU lecturers and researchers in translating research ideas into competitive proposals, enhancing grant acquisition capability, and strengthening international academic publication outcomes.
