Khon Kaen University’s Division of Security and Safety has conducted a training program and physical fitness assessment for its security personnel as part of its fiscal year 2026 initiatives. The event, held on 31 March 2026, aims to ensure staff are prepared to handle security, traffic control, and public disaster prevention. The opening ceremony was presided over by Associate Professor Dr Piyawat Foythong, Assistant to the President for Physical and Environmental Affairs, at the Division of Student Development and Alumni Relations building.
The university conducts these training and fitness evaluations twice annually for its security officers. The program serves multiple purposes: it is part of the annual performance review, reinforces discipline and standardized procedures, and fosters professional skills and a positive attitude. A key objective is to ensure the safety of all university personnel, students, and their property.
This year’s training also integrated the university’s anti-drug policy. As part of the initiative, all security personnel underwent mandatory drug testing, with two tests scheduled per year. This measure is part of a broader effort to establish the university as a “White Organization,” a term signifying a drug-free workplace.

Mr. Morakot Subin, Acting Director of the Division of Security and Safety, stated that the program is a critical and ongoing mission. “Security officers are the main force behind the safety of everyone at the university, including staff, students, and visitors,” he said. “We must ensure that every officer always has the skills and readiness to perform their duties. This creates a standard for our security personnel, builds confidence among those we serve, and helps us achieve our goal of being a drug-free organization.”

The day’s activities included registration and blood pressure checks by medical staff from the university’s primary care unit. The training featured a lecture on implementing the university’s drug policy and a session on traffic management duties according to Thailand’s Land Traffic Act. Officers also received practical training on proper and internationally recognized traffic hand signals, led by an expert from the Mueang Khon Kaen Police Station.

The event was attended by executives and representatives from various university departments, including the Office of the President, the Division of Human Resources, and representatives from student dormitories, the legal office, the Faculty of Nursing, and the university library, underscoring a collaborative effort to promote a safe and secure campus.
