KHON KAEN – Representatives from Khon Kaen University (KKU) attended a ceremony on April 22, 2026, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Consulate General of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Khon Kaen.
The KKU delegation was led by Assistant Professor Dr. Acharawan Topark-Ngarm, Assistant to the President for International Affairs. She was joined by executives from the university’s College of Local Administration, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, International College, and the College of Graduate Study in Management.
The event, held at the Consulate General’s office, featured a keynote address by Mr. Dinh Hoang Linh, the Consul General of Vietnam in Khon Kaen. The celebration was well-attended by representatives from government agencies, educational institutions, and various other sectors.
A highlight of the event was the opening of a photo exhibition titled “A 30-Year Journey Following President Ho Chi Minh’s Teachings.” The exhibition chronicled the consulate’s significant role over the past three decades in fostering diplomatic, economic, and cultural cooperation between Vietnam and Northeastern Thailand.
Khon Kaen University extended its congratulations, acknowledging the Consulate General’s vital role in strengthening the close relationship between Thailand and Vietnam.
Dr. Acharawan Topark-Ngarm stated that as a leading educational institution in the region, Khon Kaen University has maintained ongoing academic and research collaborations with institutions in Vietnam. She emphasized the university’s commitment to expanding cooperation within the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS).
She noted that KKU actively supports this goal by offering the GMS Scholarship for graduate students from member countries, including Vietnam. This is complemented by continuous academic and student exchange activities designed to promote cross-cultural understanding and build a sustainable academic network.
The university’s participation in the anniversary celebration marks another significant step in continuing the strong partnership between Khon Kaen University and its network in Vietnam, contributing to sustainable development in the region.
