On August 18, 2025, Khon Kaen University (KKU), led by Mrs. Natsamol Tanakulrungsarit, Vice President for Legal and Communications, together with the Director of the Corporate Communications Division and university staff, participated in the tribute ceremony honoring the statue of His Majesty King Mongkut (King Rama IV) at the Faculty of Science, Khon Kaen University, on the occasion of National Science Week 2025.
The ceremony was presided over by Mr. Phanthep Saokosol, Deputy Governor of Khon Kaen Province, who presented offerings, laid a floral garland, and delivered a royal homage to commemorate the benevolence and scientific genius of King Rama IV. His contributions are most notably exemplified by his precise prediction of the total solar eclipse in Hua Hin District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province in 1868, which demonstrated his mastery of modern science and astronomy.
This annual ceremony aims to honor and remember the lasting contributions of King Mongkut, who laid the foundation for the advancement of science in Thailand.
