Khon Kaen University (KKU) recently organized a “Dharma Tour” activity aimed at promoting ethics and morality among its personnel, coinciding with the observance of the Buddhist Lent (Khao Phansa) tradition.
On September 15, 2025, the Office of the President’s Morality and Ethics Promotion Project led a delegation of university staff to Wat Pa Huai Kum in Nong Phon Ngam sub-district, Kaset Sombun district, Chaiyaphum province, for a spiritual practice session.
The trip was headed by Mrs. Natsamol Tanakulrungsarit, Vice President for Legal and Communications, who joined other project participants in learning Buddhist principles and meditation practices.
At 3:00 PM, attendees listened to a dharma sermon delivered by Phra Ratchapariyattimoli (Saithong Techathammo), the abbot of Wat Pa Huai Kum. The abbot emphasized meditation, spiritual cultivation, and the development of mindfulness, concentration, and wisdom, encouraging participants to integrate these teachings into their daily lives.
In addition to the spiritual teachings, the group participated in the traditional offering of Khao Phansa candles and other monastic requisites to the temple, upholding a cherished Thai custom during the Buddhist Lent period. The delegation also contributed 49,999 baht towards the construction of a hospital building.
This initiative is seen as a significant effort to enhance the moral and ethical development of Khon Kaen University personnel and to cultivate their spiritual well-being. It also reflects the university’s dedication to supporting valuable Thai traditions and culture while supporting public welfare, contributing to the overall happiness and progress of society.
