On January 11, 2025, the Physical Therapy Program, Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences, Khon Kaen University, organized a project to provide physical therapy services for athletes at the 21st Khon Kaen International Marathon 2025. The project was led by Dr.Settapong  Nongharnpitak, along with faculty members, physical therapists, and physical therapy students, who jointly provided care for more than 2,500 marathon runners.

Dr.Settapong  Nongharnpitak revealed that this project implementation applied sports physical therapy knowledge into real practice to promote athlete safety and performance. It also provided an excellent opportunity for physical therapy students to learn about working for the community and gain experience in teamwork with professionals from various fields. This year, the service was elevated to another level by introducing physical therapy treatment equipment such as Ultrasound therapy and Electrical stimulation to treat injured runners, with care provided by physical therapists and graduate students.

The atmosphere at the event was lively and warm, filled with fun activities, singing, and promotional campaigns inviting participants, which received an excellent response, reflecting the dedication and commitment to using professional skills for the greatest benefit to society.
