KKU and Chongqing Medical University Discuss Advancing Medical Cooperation to Enhance International Capabilities

On 17 April 2026, administrators from Khon Kaen University (KKU), led by Associate Professor Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University, met with representatives from Chongqing Medical University, People’s Republic of China, to discuss academic cooperation. The KKU delegation included Assistant Professor Acharawan Topark-Ngarm, Ph.D., Assistant to the President for International Affairs; Assistant Professor Uthaiwan Danwiwat, Ph.D., Director of the Confucius Institute at Khon Kaen University; along with deans and faculty members from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Education.

During the meeting, both institutions exchanged ideas on a wide range of collaborative initiatives, with a particular focus on medical science, pharmaceutical sciences, and foreign languages. The discussions covered student and faculty exchanges, joint research development, and the enhancement of foreign language proficiency to support medical education in an international context.

Chongqing Medical University is a leading health sciences institution in the People’s Republic of China, renowned for its expertise in medicine, clinical research, and health innovation. Meanwhile, Khon Kaen University is distinguished for its contributions to medicine and public health within the ASEAN region and maintains strong programmes in humanities, social sciences, languages, and culture.
