His Holiness Somdet Phra Ariyavongsagatayana, the Supreme Patriarch of Thailand, presided over a merit-making ceremony at the Ubosot (main chapel) of Wat Ratchabophit Sathitmahasimaram. The ceremony was dedicated to His Holiness Somdet Phra Sangharaja Chao Kromma Luang Chinavaralongkorn and was held under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty the King to commemorate the 129th anniversary of his birth on 2 March 2026.

On this occasion, His Holiness the Supreme Patriarch graciously bestowed educational scholarships from the Somdet Phra Sangharaja Chao Kromma Luang Chinavaralongkorn Foundation. Continuing the tradition that the late Supreme Patriarch observed annually on his birthday, scholarships were granted to 50 educational and charitable institutions.

Khon Kaen University was among the recipients, receiving a scholarship to be allocated to students who demonstrate academic excellence, good conduct, and financial need. A representative from Khon Kaen University received the scholarship from His Holiness on 2 March 2026 at the Ubosot of Wat Ratchabophit Sathitmahasimaram. This act of profound grace reflects His Holiness’s continuous and benevolent support for the education of students at Khon Kaen University.
