KKU Performing Arts Showcases Student Work and Partners with Workpoint Entertainment to Forge Pathways into the Entertainment Industry

The Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts hosted “Passion Reloaded”, an event featuring an MOU signing with industry and education partners, student project presentations, and activities to prepare students for professional careers.


KHON KAEN, THAILAND – On 31 March 2026, the Bachelor of Fine Arts Programme in Performing Arts, Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Khon Kaen University, held its “Passion Reloaded” event at the faculty’s theatre. The event was officially opened by Associate Professor Burin Plengdeesakul, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, who delivered a warm welcome address to the distinguished guests.

Following the opening, Associate Professor Tanatchaporn Kittikong, Ph.D., Chair of the Performance Practice Programme, presented an overview of the curriculum, highlighting its focus on producing performing arts graduates who meet the demands of contemporary society under the 2022 and 2027 curriculum frameworks. The event was skilfully compered by Lecturer Ratchaneekorn Chantahan and was well attended by administrators, faculty members, students, and representatives from external organisations.

A key highlight of the day was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts and key partners from the entertainment industry and the education sector. Representing the industry, an agreement was signed with Thai Broadcasting Co., Ltd. (Workpoint Entertainment). Executives in attendance included Mr. Jirasak Konprom, Managing Director of Workpoint Inspiration Next Co., Ltd., and Mr. Siwat Mangkhlad, Co-Producer and Creative Lead at Workpoint Inspiration Next.

A second MOU was established with the Khon Kaen Secondary Educational Service Area Office. Dr. Sunet Thongpho, Deputy Director, and Ms. Sucheera Sakhong, a Senior Professional Level Educational Supervisor, attended on behalf of Mr. Wansak Khamhaeng, Director of the Khon Kaen Secondary Educational Service Area Office. This collaboration is designed to bridge the gap between academic theory and authentic professional environments, providing students with unparalleled access to industry experience. 

The event also featured a presentation of student learning outcomes from the Work-integrated Learning (WIL) and Performance Research courses. These presentations demonstrated the creative calibre of the students, cultivated through rigorous practical training. 

The afternoon session included an orientation for students preparing for their internships under the WIL programme, led by Assistant Professor Pachaya Akkapram, Ph.D. The session introduced the tenth cohort of students to the partner organisations where they will be placed during the 2026 academic year. This was followed by a reflective session where students from all year levels shared their learning experiences under the guidance of the programme’s faculty members.

The day concluded with a farewell ceremony to congratulate and encourage the fourth-year students who are approaching graduation, led by Assistant Professor Pongsatorn Yoddamnoen, Ph.D. The ceremony also included the PP Awards 2026, which recognised outstanding student achievements and projects from the 2025 academic year. The event culminated in a special performance by Dr. Mike Hornblow and Mr. Duncan Foster, which was met with great appreciation from all attendees.

The “Passion Reloaded” event is a significant annual activity for the Performing Arts programme, reflecting its commitment to developing student potential, integrating knowledge with practical application, and building a strong collaborative network with industry and educational partners to prepare high-calibre graduates for society.
