Khon Kaen University meets the press to release news on the readiness of the “1st KKU Royal Trophy” golf contest for HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s trophy

March 7, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. – The Khon Kaen University Operation Promotion Committee held the press conference and lots drawing for the golf contest lines of the 1st KKU Royal Trophy of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. Dr. Narongchai Akrasanee, Chairman of the Khon Kaen University Council presided over the event and gave the welcoming speech to attendants. Khun Sukit Sirinorakul, Chairman of the Khon Kaen University Operation Promotion Committee, as the chairman of the golf contest reported about the rationale of the event. Khun Suriya Tantiwiwat, Chairman of the Contest Organization Committee explained about the readiness of the contest. Joining at the press conference were the Contest Committee, Judge Committee, Khun Sitthichai Leekasem, Chairman of the KKU Engineering Alumni Advisory Board, representative of golfers, distinguished guests and news correspondents. The press conference took place at the Meeting Room of the Chulalongkorn University Alumni Union, Bangkok.

Dr. Narongchai Akrasanee, Chairman of the Khon Kaen University Council mentioned in his welcoming and opening speech: “The Golf Contest for the Royal Trophy of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn is an event organized under the intention of Khon Kaen University, and is expected to bring reputation for Khon Kaen University on the occasion of its 60th Anniversary. I appreciate the initiation and the courage to hold this world-standard golf contest. The event, besides bringing the pride of KKU, also promotes sports and relationships among the unions and organizations in Thailand and abroad. This is going to be a great golf event with live broadcast all through the two days of the contest.”

 

Khun Sukit Sirinorakul, Chairman of the Khon Kaen University Operation Promotion Committee, as the chairman of the golf contest explained about the rationale of this KKU Royal Trophy Golf Contest, “The coming 2024 is the year Khon Kaen University reaches its 60 years of foundation. As the chairman of KKU Operation Promotion Committee, I have discussed with the alumni of the University about organizing a great and socially valuable event that will also strengthen relationships among various unions. It was totally agreed that a big golf event be organized, where we would make a request for trophies from Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. The first  KKU Royal Trophy Golf Contest has then been scheduled on March 18-19 at Singh Golf Park, Khon Kaen. On behalf of the Khon Kaen University Operation Promotion Committee, I’d like to thank the organization committee, Origin Property, Public Company, who is the principle supporter, and all supporters of the event. Thanks are extended to the unions joining in the contest and all that are involved in the organization. I hope that the 1st KKU Royal Trophy Golf Contest will be successful and achieve its and everyone’s goal.”

Khun Suriya Tantiwiwat, Chairman of the Golf Contest Organization Committee added about the readiness of the contest. “Singh Golf Park, Khon Kaen, thanks to Khun Panu Anambutr, has been completely prepared for the golf event. For the regulations, we received cooperation from the Thailand Golf Referee Association to take care of the field and all the rules for the contest this year. It is the first time KKU has organized this KKU Royal Trophy Golf Contest and it will be a special event as it is going to be broadcast live on Facebook all through the two days of contest.”

Royal Bangkok Sports Club Team (RBSC)

Chulalongkorn University Alumni Association Team (CUAA)

King Mongkut Institute of Technology Lad Krabang Team (KMITL)

Japanese Association Golf Club (JAGC)

Thammasat Team under the Royal Patronage (TU)

PTT Public Company Limited (PTT)

Provincial Electricity Authority Team (PEA)

Khon Kaen University Team (KKU)
