KKU takes care of youths’ health by giving masks and alcohol gel as a fight against COVID – at Srisangwan School

August 10, 2020 – Khon Kaen University by over 20 staff members of Communication Division led by Mrs. Natsamol Tanakilrungsarit, Assistant to the President for Special Affairs went out to give alcohol gel and face masks to pupils of Srisangwan School, Muang District, Khon Kaen Province. Mr. Sathianpong Busarakham, Deputy Director of Srisangwan School and the pupils welcomed the KKU group. This project was aimed at building good health conscience among the youths during the period of COVID-19 and responding to KKU’s spiritual policy – dedication to the social and care of the surrounding society.

Mrs. Natsamol Tanakilrungsarit, Assistant to the President for Special Affairs of Khon Kaen University said that KKU heard about the need of the school for alcohol gel and masks and thus brought 70 sets of alcohol gel from Faculty of Pharmaceutical Science and 700 masks received from Thai Red Cross for the school pupils. Khon Kaen University sees that the youths need special care since they are at the growing age and becoming a good citizen. The university as an academic institution has an intention of social dedication and support in various aspects.

“Whenever we have a chance to support the society, we will do it immediately. Srisangwan School is already the university’s community radio network. We are happy to assist the school. We will also bring over mask straps so that the pupils can keep the masks with themselves and not losing them. In the future, we are planning for the lunch project, and clothes. We intend to bring happiness to the community around the campus according to the social responsibility policy,” the assistant to the President said.

Mr. Sathianpong Busarakham, Deputy Director of Srisangwan School thanked the ajarns and staff for the attention and care towards the young people who are disabled. Alcohol gel and masks are necessary during this period of time. Srisangwan School is a boarding school and the chance of disease spreading is high, for the pupils are close to one another. These items are therefore very useful for the school and also add to the measures taken for pupils’ health care.

In the future, Communication Division plans to carry out a lunch and articles of clothing project to support the pupils at Srisangwan School.
