Wednesday August 23, 2023 – The team of Khon Kaen University administrators led by Mr. Surapon Phetwara, Vice Chairman of Khon Kaen University Council; Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University; and Asst. Prof. Achrawan To-pharkngam, Ph.D., Assistant to KKU President for International Affairs, went to The Thai Embassy in Hanoi, Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The purpose of the visit was to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with FPT University. The MOU signing ceremony was honored to have Mr. Nikorndech Palangkoon, The Thai Ambassador to Vietnam; Miss Morakot Janematukorn, Thai Minister, witness the MOU signing, with Dr. Ta Ngoc Cau, Vice Director of FPT University, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien, Dean of FPT Education Global and guests of honor from Thailand-Vietnam Friendship Association, Vietnam-Thailand Friendship Association, Thai Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam, and Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations. The MOU signing was aimed at proceeding with the academic collaboration and Student Exchange Program between FPT University and Khon Kaen University.
Khon Kaen University President said, “On behalf of Khon Kaen University, I congratulate the 78th Anniversary of Vietnam and Vietnam National Day on the 2nd of September. My well wishes to everyone on this occasion. The collaboration between Thailand and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam has grown beyond our expectation. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the strategic partnership of our two countries. We have agreed to collaboratively work on enhancement of cultures, education, tourism and interconnection of our countries. As such, our relationship will also be strengthened.”
“FPT University and Khon Kaen University agree to proceed with the collaboration and enhancement of education. The collaboration will involve Thai Embassy, Thailand-Vietnam Friendship Association, Vietnam-Thailand Friendship Association, and Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations. The MOU also demonstrates the power of our friendship and we will together promote innovations and dedication towards academic excellence. We share the vision in providing the best education to school and university students, which will result in social and national growth. The collaboration between the universities is not just the signing, but is the collaboration that will lead to exchanges of knowledge, expertise, languages and cultures. It will also open a chance for school and university students to experience learning in new environments and prepare for the world challenges and rapid development ahead of us.”
Khon Kaen University and FPT University have collaborated for a long time since 2013. There have been continuing activities in student exchanges. The Student Exchange Program that will be carried out in 2023 is aimed at promoting social, cultural and language learning among third year students of the two universities. The organizations involved in selection and granting scholarships for the students include Thai Embassy in Hanoi, Thailand-Vietnam Friendship Association, and Vietnam-Thailand Friendship Association.
