Over 50 Agencies Convene to Finalise Preparations for the ‘KKU Societal Contribution Fair’

Khon Kaen University (KKU) held a preparatory meeting for its annual Societal Contribution activity, bringing together representatives from numerous internal and external organisations to discuss the forthcoming service fair.

On Friday, 13 February 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 hrs, Khon Kaen University (KKU) convened a meeting to prepare for the “KKU Societal Contribution Fair” (Societal Contribution 2026). The meeting was held at the Sarasind Room, 2nd Floor, Kaen Kalapapruek Building, Khon Kaen University, and saw robust attendance from representatives of both internal and external organisations.

The “KKU Societal Contribution Fair” (Societal Contribution 2026) is scheduled to take place on 6 March 2026 at the Khon Kaen Provincial Railway Station area. The objective of the event is to provide a platform for various university units to directly offer academic and community services to the public. This initiative is designed to foster strong relationships, robust collaboration, and sustainable co-development between the university and external communities.

This year’s event will feature over 50 service booths from various organisations, divided into four main service categories: Health Services; Knowledge and Education Services; Career Promotion Services; and Pet and Other Services. Both internal Khon Kaen University units and external agencies are supporting and participating in the fair.

Mrs. Natsamol Tanakulrungsarit, Vice President for Legal and Communications, revealed that this marks the seventh consecutive year the activity has been organised. Furthermore, it is the first year that the timing has been shifted from September to March. This change was implemented following previous years’ issues with rainfall, which had made it difficult for the public to travel and utilise the services. The adjustment aims to better accommodate citizens attending the fair. Additionally, KKU has collaborated with Khon Kaen Municipality to organise this joint activity, demonstrating the university’s commitment to improving the event annually and continuously resolving any issues that arise. The Vice President also extended gratitude to the community service network for continuing their collaboration in serving the public.

Mr. Thamniap Suksant, Station Master of Khon Kaen Railway Station, noted that while the station is currently undergoing area improvements, including the installation of screening zones for passengers at both the entrance and exit, the railway station still possesses ample space suitable for hosting various activities. Overall, the area can effectively accommodate the event without disrupting public train services. He expressed delight that the station premises would be utilised to benefit the general public.

The staging of the 7th “KKU Societal Contribution Fair” in 2026 demonstrates Khon Kaen University’s ongoing dedication to developing academic services for society. The university has proactively addressed problems and limitations observed in previous years, leading to improvements such as changing the event schedule, strengthening cooperation with Khon Kaen Municipality, and increasing the diversity of participating service units. This event is not merely a service delivery to the community; it also strengthens the relationship between the university and the local community, and serves as a vital platform for various organisations to demonstrate their academic potential and contribute tangible benefits to society, fully aligning with KKU’s role as an authentic university for society.
