High-performing collaboration aims to drive academic excellence and accelerate the commercialisation of university research on a global scale.
Khon Kaen University (KKU) formalised a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Vaxion Korea Co., Ltd. and Vaxion (Thailand) Co., Ltd. to bridge the gap between higher education and international industries. The tripartite agreement focuses on developing digital technology skills, nurturing student entrepreneurship, and driving university innovation into global commercial markets.
The official signing ceremony took place on 23 June 2026, at 13:00 hrs at the Sarasin Conference Room, 2nd Floor, Sirikunakorn Building, Khon Kaen University. Assoc. Prof. Pensri Jaroenwanit, Ph.D, Vice President for Student Affairs and Innovation Commercialization, signed the agreement on behalf of KKU. Mr. Haejin Pyun, CEO of Vaxion (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and Director of Vaxion Korea Co., Ltd., signed on behalf of the corporate partners. Asst. Prof. Suntaree Buchitchon, Ph.D, Dean of the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, witnessed the ceremony alongside executives from both organizations.

Assoc. Prof. Pensri Jaroenwanit, Ph.D, highlighted that KKU is actively driving its Education Transformation strategy to produce high-quality graduates equipped with future-ready skills and entrepreneurial mindsets. Furthermore, the university is committed to elevating itself into a High Performing University by integrating research and innovation to serve societal needs, while tangibly transforming intellectual property into commercial success to sustainably power the national economy.
“Today’s signing marks a significant milestone as we partner with Vaxion Korea Co., Ltd. and Vaxion (Thailand) Co., Ltd., visionary technology startups with deep expertise. Together, we will empower our students for the global workforce, enhance institutional brand visibility, and expand international marketing channels for KKU’s research-driven products and services,” stated the Vice President.

Asst. Prof. Suntaree Buchitchon, Ph.D, elaborated on the core dimensions of the collaboration, noting that the agreement bridges academic foundational knowledge with real-world industry demands. The partnership covers professional internships, joint research, practical training, and promotional activities to strengthen KKU’s international recognition. Crucially, the alliance will support the development of the KKU Market Platform into a high-performance e-commerce system, serving as a live digital marketing laboratory for students.

Speaking on the industry commitment, Mr. Haejin Pyun outlined five pillars of corporate support: providing scholarships for student career growth; offering hands-on technical internships to foster entrepreneurial thinking; upgrading the KKU Market Platform; connecting university innovations to commercial investment pipelines; and boosting global capacity through joint academic initiatives.
“This memorandum represents more than a conventional corporate-academic alliance; it establishes a sustainable growth model combining student welfare and technological innovation. We firmly believe this partnership will accelerate KKU’s vision.
