Uttaradit, Thailand – The Khon Kaen University (KKU) alumni network in Uttaradit province and nearby areas held a gathering to meet and encourage current KKU students. The event took place on 21 April 2026, at Uttaradit School, just before the students departed for the 33rd joint Rural Development Volunteer Camp co-hosted with Chiang Mai University (CMU).
he primary goal of the meeting was to foster a connection between alumni and current students. Senior alumni, who had participated in the volunteer camp in previous years, shared their experiences and stories about the camp’s origins, a tradition that has been passed down for over three decades. This exchange aimed to instil in the new generation of students the value of public service and the importance of continuing this legacy.
The informal yet meaningful discussion featured guidance from successful alumni across various professions. The alumni panel included Mr. Wanlop Wiboonkul, Director of the Sukhothai Primary Educational Service Area Office 1; Dr. Chalayut Krutmuang, a lecturer at Uttaradit Rajabhat University; and several teachers from local schools, including Mr. Thapthai Tantiampai, Mr. Sirilak Yamkong, Mr. Praepanthong Buahin, and Mr. Thakorn Phimchangthong.
This event served as more than just an encouragement session; it was an opportunity to foster institutional pride and reinforce the “Mor Din Daeng” spirit. The act of passing down experiences from one generation to the next was intended to inspire the students, strengthening their resolve to successfully complete their community service mission and ensure the tradition endures at Khon Kaen University.
