KKU visits CMU to brainstorm on ‘University 4.0’ – emphasizing administration towards excellence

October 17, 2023 – Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University and Asst. Prof. Tala Thammaroj, M.D., Vice President for Administration attended the learning and sharing event at Chiangmai University. The meeting, aiming at exchanging viewpoints about the administrative approach that will lead to university excellence, was organized for the network of 3 universities (‘3 powers of the nation’).
Key activities at the event included a special talk on: “Challenges of Higher Education Institutes and New Frontiers of Interdisciplinary Learning and Innovations” by Professor Tan Eng Chye, President of the National University of Singapore (NUS) followed by the learning and sharing session on the university administrative approach towards excellence, and a visit to the Science and Technology Park of Chiangmai University.


The special talk and the learning and sharing of ideas for administration towards excellence were supported by the National Research Council (NRC), which is part of the “University 4.0” Project, Phase 2, a continuation of the first phase – the pilot project for setting scenario and strategies for the 3 network universities (‘3 powers of the nation’), i.e., 1) Prince of Songkhla University, 2) Khon Kaen University, and 3) Chiangmai University. Prior to this, executives of the 3 universities made an official and study visit to the National University of Singapore, on August 20 – 23, 2023, in Singapore, to study the NUS’ administrative success.
