KKU joins the tray presentation ceremony to pay homage towards HRH Princess Srinagarindra

KKU representatives joined the tray presentation ceremony on the occasion of HRH Princess Srinagarindra’s Birthday, National Nurse Day, Dental Health day, Social Welfare Day, and Thai Volunteer Day 

       October 21, 2019 at 07:00-12:00 a.m., Khon Kaen University led by Ajarn Natsamol Tanakulrangsarit, Assistant to President for Special Affairs and personnel of Communication Division attended the tray presentation ceremony to pay homage towards Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra, the Mother of King Rama IX on the occasion of HRH the Princess’ birth date, the National Nurse Day, the Dental Health Day, the Social Welfare Day and the Thai Volunteer Day at the Royal Statue at Srinagarind Hospital, Khon Kaen University.  

       Dr. Somsak Jangtrakoon, Khon Kaen Goernor presided over the ceremony, leading official departments and different organization in the gracious tray presentation as homage paying towards Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra. Mr. Somchaichote Piyawatwela, the Provincial Public Health Officer made the reporting speech. Next, Khon Kaen Governor placed the garland on HRH statue’s lap and another garland at the foot of His Royal Highness Prince Mahidol, placed the tray, lit the candles and incense sticks, placed the fresh flower tray, and led the participants to present the eulogistic oration and sang the nursing march song, followed by a stand still for 1 minute in commemoration. After this, Dr. Somsak Jangtrakoon, Khon Kaen Governor opened the National Nursing Day Exhibition and visited the booths where professors and nurses of Srinagarind Hospitals welcomed him. 

       Sunday October 21, 1900 was the birth date of Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra from HRH’s father, “Chu” and mother, “Kham”. HRH Memorial Day was July 18, 1995 on which HRH passed away at the age of 94. Since HRH the Princess had a nursing degree and had done her missions in developing health, hygiene and quality of life of the people all through her life, HRH was a role model of those in the nursing profession so that they are aware of the professional missions as an important health service job. With all the HRH’s virtues, October 21 has been established as the National Nurse Day, the Dental Health Day, the Social Welfare Day and the Thai Volunteer Day. Glorification activities to commemorate HRH the Princess are held on this day every year.
