KKU Library’s showcase of advanced innovations at the press conference of KK Smart & Mice City Expo 2019

KKU Library met the press releasing news on the smart city innovations for Khon Kaen Smart & Mice City Expo 2019

  October 16, 2019 – Khon Kaen University Library led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Supasit Khonyai, Deputy Director for Structure and Administration and Mrs. Yupaporn Thongnoi, Deputy Director for Planning and Strategies joined the press conference of  Khon Kaen Smart & Mice City Expo 2019 where smart city innovations will be shown. Dr. Somsak Jungtrakoon Khon Kaen Governor presided over this press conference. 

  Khon Kaen University Library will join in the booth exhibition to showcase the library’s innovations that support Khon Kaen Smart City. The exhibition is scheduled to be held from October 21 thru October 25, 2019 at the Science Park, Khon Kaen University. The innovations to be shown have been in use around KKI campus and Khon Kaen city, consisting of:

   E-Waste Smart Bin – arising from the Smart Library’s care for the world and the environment. KKU has implemented the Green Library project for many years in which activities aiming at social and environmental responsibilities have been organized. The E-Waste Smart Bin that disposes electronics wastes is the first of its kind in Thailand. In the coming years, E-Waste Smart Bin will be installed at over 1,000 network institutions and places. Other innovations are the Smart Trash, Smart Parking, KAN Application and the use of CCTV in Khon Kaen Municipality. The following job is to public relate these innovations so that the people will use them. Then Khon Kaen will be the prototype city in terms of the use of digital technology for efficient city administration and management. If interested, KAN Smart City (KK Smart City) applications can be downloaded. This central application includes the various Smart City systems within it and can be downloaded now both for iOS and android. 

   The latest innovation is the weather and pollution detection sensor for PM2.5, with IoT technology. There are 15 points of PM 2.5 Smart Sensors on KKU campus and Khon Kaen city: Faculties of Nursing, Agriculture, Engineering, Pharmaceutical Science, Education, College of Local Administration, Business Administration and Accountancy, Veterinary Medicine, SiThan Lake, Science Park Office of Khon Kaen Governor, Kaen Nakhon Lake, Isan Rajamanggala University of Technology and the Northeast University.
